Hardee Fresh Donates Organic Produce to Central Florida Families in Need

Wauchula, FL – Hardee Fresh is pleased to announce its efforts to alleviate hunger and other forms of food insecurity in Central Florida. The Company has recently begun donating boxes of assorted fresh, leafy green vegetables to the United Way of Central Florida (“UWCF”) for distribution by UWCF at mobile food pantries and food banks throughout Central Florida.

In 2019, UWCF launched the End Hunger Initiative, a new program aimed at alleviating nutritional deficiency and other forms of food insecurity in Polk, Highland, and Hardee Counties by providing fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, and frozen meats to families in food insecure communities. Over the past few months, UWCF has launched regular food distributions at sites across Central Florida. Hardee Fresh is proud to partner with UWCF in to serving the Central Florida communities in which Hardee Fresh’s employees live and work. Hardee Fresh’s first donation was distributed by UWCF today to 605 families in Highlands County.

In recognition of the dramatic recent increase in the number of Central Florida families requiring food assistance, Hardee Fresh will increase its contributions to UWCF and other charitable organizations serving Central Florida families in need, with plans to assist more than 10,000 such families through these efforts in 2020.
